I Kinda Crafted with Sara Bareilles

A fuzzy picture of some Old Yarn Girls
with their paper crafts
Ok, so my sister signed us up for a paper craft night by this lady that does some work for Anthropology's window displays and has recently released a craft book and was having a workshop and book signing at the Urban Craft Center in Santa Monica which is currently closing.  (That was a lot of info in one sentence and I am sure there is supposed to be a comma in there somewhere, but read this quickly and as if you are running out of breath.)  Well, while I was minding my own business cutting and folding paper and looking around at the things I was going to buy when I was done, I noticed that I was crafting with Sara Bareilles.  I was so excited, but my sister made me keep my mouth shut.  She feels  "The Famous" don't like to outted in public and she is probably right and if the Urban Craft Center were remaining open and she was going to be frequenting the place on a consistant basis I would not even mention this,  but since this obviously won't be a hang out of hers, I don't feel like I am divulging any personal info here...

Any-who...I was walking around the store and thought my sister was next to me, so I turned to her and was about to make a comment on some adorable fabric when I came face to face with Sara ( that's what I call her now).  I panicked trying to not call attention to her famousness and blurted out "O, you're not my friend..." at which point she responded "No, but we could be friends, I can tell just by looking at you".  Here is where I laughed awkwardly and walked to find my sister with the fabric in hand and pretended I was showing it to her, but I was really just telling her about what happened.  When I got home my husband told me I should have said "We can be friends, but don't expect me to write you a love song."

SO there you have it folks, Sara Bareille's dabbles in paper crafts.

The Bee's Knees Wall Fashion by The Old Yarn Girls

My friend made this for me, because after she learned of my Bee obsession she began to see them everywhere.  While at the local craft store she found these bee note cards in a $1 bin and cut them down then mod podge them, cut a scrap of vintage yellow polka dress to cover the mat in a thrift store frame she spray painted off-white and there you have it.  A wall fashion that is the bee's knees!

I was then inspired to create this Etsy Treasury list called
